I have an older indash GPS Stereo system and my Ipod doesn't charge off it when I connect it to the stereo. I researched this product and found that it was exactly what I needed to ensure that my Ipod would charge while it was playing through my indash stereo. I've made many purchases from Amazon and all were either perfect or if not, they were made that way. This purchase was no different. The Scorsche passPORT adapter was shipped quickly and once hooked up to my stereo cable and into the ipod worked PERFECTLY! As usual I am completely satisfied with this purchase and would recommend this product to anyone who has an older indash stereo on a 12 volt system that doesn't charge an Ipod.

I bought this so that I did not need to purchase a new FM transmitter for my car when I already had a working one that was only made for iPods. I have a monster cable FM transmitter and it would not charge any iPhones, but now with this little wonder all I had to do is plug the transmitter's 30 pin plug into the passPORT and the passPORT into the 30 pin plug on my iPhone 4s and now my phone charges and works with the transmitter! Only thing I had to do is shave some plastic off of my iPhone holder because the passPORT is a but wider than the regular 30 pin plug. All in all a great deal and it saves you from needing to buy a new transmitter or other device just to be iPhone compliant.

Beware - I loved this charger, and just bought my third 2 days ago, but it does NOT work with every iPod/iPhone.
There is a loud hiss when I use this with my iPhone 4s.

There are posts on the Apple community page, which you can find by searching for "Scosche and hissing"
I just checked three Scosche chargers - I had one for each car and just bought a 3rd when I thought the hissing sound was because the second one broke. All three produced the hissing sound.
I checked three different iPods - I tried my iPod nano (which yes, I now have to return) and no hissing. iPod Touch 3rd gen - hissing, but much softer. iPod touch - loud hissing.
I checked three different stereos - two car stereos - both had the hissing sound. I also checked an old small clock radio that had an iPod adapter - no hissing sound. So it looks like the hissing is only with certain types of stereos.
I checked the Scosche website, and they do not list it as an accessory for the iPhone 4s, but do for all other products.
